Struggling MKU will now play in the lower league after losing to the Sugar Millers

Mount Kenya United have been relegated to the National Super League (NSL) after falling 3-1 to Sony Sugar on Saturday.

The Melis Medo led side needed a win against the Sugar Millers to keep their slim hopes of playing in the top tier next season, but two goals from Derrick Otanga, and one from Solomon Omollo, were enough to seal their fate.

Meanwhile KCB picked a vital 3-2 win against Kariobangi Sharks in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match played on Saturday.

Ezekiel Odera, who is on loan from AFC Leopards, set the ball rolling in the 10th minute from the penalty spot. Duke Abuya levelled the scores nine minutes after the break with a penalty of his own.

However, Chrispinus Onyango grabbed a quick brace in the 61st and 65th minutes to help his team to a 3-2 win. It is the first time KCB have won against Sharks this season, having drawn and lost the initial two games in all competitions.

Umaru Kasumba’s solitary goal rescued a point for Sofapaka against Nzoia Sugarat Sudi Stadium as the two sides fought to a 1-1 draw in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match.

Kasumba’s 77th-minute strike ensured that Batoto ba Mungu did not come out of Sudi Stadium empty-handed against the Sugar Millers who were buoyed by their last win over Gor Mahia.

Nzoia Sugar took the lead in the 28th minute from the spot after Stephen Etyang was brought down by Mousa Omar.

Finally Posta Rangers vs Kakamega Homeboyz ended with a barren draw
