Everton Make Approach For Out-Of-Favour For Defender Thomas Meunier

The Republic of Ireland captain has lost his starting place to youngster Jonjoe Kenny in recent defeats to Manchester City and Watford.

The Belgium international, 27, is behind Dani Alves and Thilo Kehrer in the pecking order at the Parc des Princes – and could be keen on a move to Goodison Park.

Last year, Meunier revealed he would take a “step down” to join Everton in order to improve his playing time.

“What I want is to play football. I still have two years left of contract in Paris and my goal is to stay in Paris. We like it a lot.

“It’s playing in a club in the style of Everton, Valencia or Dortmund.

“Michy Batshuayi made a very good choice by going to Valencia. The pleasure is to play football and that’s what I miss for now.”
