Barcelona are eyeing the signature of Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis

The Brazilian international first joined Los Colchoneros from Deportivo in 2010, with his impressive showings in the Spanish capital having eventually seen Premier League giants Chelsea snap Luis up for a fee of around £16 million in 2014.

Following a largely-disappointing spell at Stamford Bridge, however, the no-nonsense stopper rejoined Atletico the following summer.

And, despite the South American having fallen behind World Cup winner Lucas Hernandez in the left-back pecking order at the Wanda Metropolitano over the last couple of seasons, Luis continues to play an important role in Diego Simeone’s squad.
